A Day at the Races

Time for a John Smith`s!

You can have a bet whether in the centre of the course or in the paddock

A skint bookie - don`t make me laugh!

Was a muddy day!

Don`t worry the horse was OK.

A really colourful day out.

One of my winning jockeys interviewed

Wetherby Races -Where people meet!
Thought I would share a few pictures from a great day out at Wetherby races. I had a press pass but even going as an amatuer you can get some great vantage points and I was often shooting right next to a guy who had just paid to go on the centre of the course. Wetherby is arguably the best jumping course in the north with a quality of racing renowned throughout the sport and a great location right next to the A1. They hold themed days, family days and are running meetings until the end of May 2013. For details of their meetings visit: Wetherby Races. I for one am aiming to go to the meeting on 28th April that features the Mascot Gold Cup where over 50 larger than life furry characters will race for victory over a furlong and six fences raisaing money for charity and giving great photo opportunities. If you are a bit of a runner and want to do something different you could even register to run with Sue Ryder charity here Run as a a mascot in the Gold Cup. Should be fun!
