Wedding in Ronda

I`d given up wedding photography really but my insurance was still in place and I`d always dreamed of a destination wedding so when our friends Anne and Peter asked me to cover their daughter Rach`s wedding near Ronda how could I resist! Rach and Stu had made the trip from Australia to marry in the mountains of AndalucĂa and the whole event was sure to be marvellous!
Given the difficulties of anyone actually foreign  marrying legally in Spain - huge issues that need to be carefully researched - this was a follow up to the legal bit done as a surprise back in Oz and gave British friends a chance for a piece of the action too!
The venue was the fantastic Hotel la Fuente de la Higuera with exclusive use of the hotel and lodge some 10 minutes or so drive away which was a challenge! As I spied out the Lodge wedding venue on the morning all of the signs were there of the event to come with flowers neatly stowed and staff trying to decide whether to set up outside / inside given the conflicting weather forecast!
Back at the hotel it was preparation time for the bride and her bridesmaid whilst guests too preened themselves for the big event. A minibus took guests over to the lodge and given the state some found themselves in after partying was welcomed for the return journey too!
The gown, bought in Perth, was stunning! Who says Aussies have no class! ;-)

The driver donned gloves and cap ready for the off!

How hard can it be to organise  43 or so people into a heart shape? Easy - you`d think!

Despite weather forecasts the day was bathed in glorious sunshine and the hotel was relaxed in giving guests extra time to make use of the glorious hot day before dinner. Work is ongoing on the rest of the editing but I promised Anne and Rach that I`d get a blog up with a few examples to be going on with picked at random from the masses of images I have to work on! It was great fun shooting what may well be my last wedding in exotic climes - thanks for asking me Rachel and Stu.
