OK - penultimate blog of our trip to Cambodia and Vietnam.
After a torturous coach trip we arrived at Halong bay for an overnight before our Halong Bay cruise. The only highlight along the way was the opportunity to stop and go into the government herb fields seeing people at work for the classic Vietnamese shots.
After a sleep in the biggest bed we`ve ever seen that would have taken 6 people it was onboard the Royal Heritage Cruise. Halong (or rather Ha Long ) bay is a Unesco world heritage site featuring thousands of limestone islands and rocky crops topped with jungle vegetation. I am afraid it is unusual to see sun and blue sky here no doubt due to the local micro climate ad our trip was no exception. The boat was lovely with great food and lots of activities laid on including kayaking, Tai Chi at dawn with the captain ad a visit to huge caves as well as passing floating fishing villages.

Lovely sight to see Halong Bay - so mysterious ands the regular shrouded mists just add to it.
